Even though they were first introduced in the middle of the 1980s, mobile phones have quickly evolved into a need for most people. Due to the abundance of options, phone makers increasingly fight for customers’ attention by providing a range of models with cutting-edge features at price points appropriate for various consumer demographics.
However, the mobile market has recently been referred to as oversaturated. Phone companies that appear unstoppable are desperately trying to win back consumers by reviving outdated models for a retro look and scaling the technological ladder for cutting-edge capabilities.
Samsung
According to market share during the past eight years, Samsung, a South Korean mobile phone manufacturer, is the best-selling smartphone brand. These smartphones are incredibly popular all over Malaysia since Samsung offers cutting edge technology and smart features.
Currently, this smartphone manufacturer has a 20.9% market share worldwide. Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9 Plus, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Fold, etc. are a few of the company’s popular smartphones.
Apple
Malaysia is one of the location of iPhone manufacturing, where labour costs are far lower than they would be in the West. The USA is the country with the second-most iPhone users, followed by China, which has 12 of these factories.
Apple collaborates with leading manufacturers to create hearing aids tailored for the iPhone, as well as the iPad and iPod, as part of the company’s commitment to diversity in the workplace and among its customer base.
Huawei
Huawei, a Chinese company with its headquarters in Shenzhen, was established in 1987 with the explicit goal of concentrating on customer needs, but in recent years, political worries about security have shaken the manufacturer.
As a result of these worries, Huawei was outlawed in a number of Western countries. In the meantime, Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou was placed under house arrest in her Vancouver home while she fought extradition to the US and suffered production losses as a result of COVID-19 lockdowns. As a result, Huawei’s revenue decreased by 5.9% this year.
Oneplus
The smartphone market appeared to be stagnant in 2013. Two former Oppo employees in China came up with the idea to reinvent the way Android smartphones were made and design one that would be appealing to a wide audience.
The 2014 launch of the smartphone line combined quick, high-quality software with skilled design to create a superior user experience for devoted Android users.
The company sold 10 million smartphones globally eight years later, in 2021.
Nokia
Nokia technology is created with affordability as a major corporate value to maintain global unity.
For the smartphone era, the company has recently brought back one of its most recognisable phones from the 1990s: the Nokia 8210 4G will return in 2022, but with an MP3 player and camera to meet modern customer needs. The cult favourite smartphone game Snake will also be available to fans of vintage devices.
